Calvary Chapel Cardiff is part of the worldwide network of over 1700 Calvary Chapel churches. We are a group of people of all ages, and from all different backgrounds who love God, love each other, and love to tell everyone the Good News about Jesus. We are based in Cardiff, Wales and have been ministering to our city since 2001.
Our church is very much a family church - in every sense of the term! With as many over 60's as under 25's, and an ever increasing number families with children making up the other half of our number, we are blessed to have people from every generation who are committed to loving and serving one another spiritually and practically, stirring one another up to love and good works, unto the glory of God!
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
This is the central task of the church: to make fully committed, thoroughly equipped, lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, by preaching the Gospel, and teaching the Bible. Therefore we are fully and passionately committed to this mission:
"...making maturing disciples of Jesus Christ!"
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers... And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42; 47
Our desire is to follow the example of the early church in the book of Acts, and be a learning, loving, worshipping, witnessing church, unto the praise and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Calvary Chapel is not a denomination, but a fellowship of over 1700 churches worldwide, which grew out of the "Jesus People" movement in Southern California in late 1960's. All Calvary Chapel churches share a common doctrinal basis, and a distinct philosophy of ministry, and are committed to the work of "making disciples" through preaching the gospel and teaching the Bible. There are currently 40 Calvary Chapel churches across the UK.
